This delicate color is achieved by applying a colorless glaze on the outer surface. When the glaze touches the clay, it turns gray with tinge of slight blue in the kiln. By not glazing the inside, the subtle roughness of the surface moderately reduce the astringency of the tea, resulting in a mellow and delicious taste. The highly viscous clay is baked at high temperature therefore the kyusu does not abosorb water nor retain the scent of tea leaves. You can enjoy varieties of tea with this pot.

When taking it outside, please put a cloth between the teapot and the cup, and in-between the cups to cushion. The shape is convenient for carrying, so you may imagine enjoying a relaxing tea time in nature under a sunny sky.
