This is a yunomi teacup of the typical standard shape that has been traditionally favored in Japan. The capacity is a little larger than other yunomi cups by Nankei Pottery.

It has a ring-shaped base and is suitable not only for everyday use, but also for formal occasions especially when combined with a wooden saucer.

The rim of the teacup is angled outward, so it touches comfortably to your lips when drinking. Also, a slightly plump body fits nicely in the hand holding the cup.

This dark-brown cup is not glazed on the outer surface which gives a rough texture of clay. The inner glaze is light gray with a glassy texture, allowing you to enjoy the color of the tea.

The outer color and texture are the same as that of Acorn-shaped Dobin Teapot with Brass Handle / Nanban. We would recommend coordinating them together for a sense of unity.
