This small yunomi teacup is about 5 cm high and fits comfortably in the palm of your hand. The bottom of the cup has a ring-shaped base that enhances its appearance. The slight curve that extends from the base to the rim like a blooming flower creates a delicate and gentle atmosphere.

By having the raised base, the teacup is not too casual and can be used comfortably on occasions such as hosting special guests.

The piece is entirely decorated with “kannyu,” small cracks created by the difference in shrinkage between the glaze and clay during firing. Black sumi-ink is penetrated in the cracks to create a sensitive lines forming a fragile pattern "sumi-kannyu" on the rich white glaze.

As the cup is used, the lines of “kannyu” may increase and the pigment of tea seep through. Its texture may change and develop over time, and we hope you will enjoy its beauty of aging.
