This simple cup with a linear design and unglazed matte texture exudes a modern,  minimalistic atmosphere, the style typical of Nankei Pottery. 

The red clay with high iron content is used, and the iron carbonizing during the firing process produce the rich ink-black color of “kuro-neri”

The highly viscous clay is fired at high temperatures, so it does not absorb water and tea aroma does not retain in the cup. It can be used not only for tea, but also serves other drinks, desserts, side dishes, and many other purposes.

It has a capacity of about 100cc and is a size to fit in the palm of your hand.

The cup is made of the same clay as the Sencha series kyushu teapots, a signature product of Nankei Pottery. We'd recommend pairing with this kyusu for a unified coordination.
