This is a teacup with a well-sized diameter that fits just comfortably in the hand and the minimalistic straight vertical form.

The piece is entirely decorated with “kannyu”, small cracks created by the difference in shrinkage between the glaze and clay during firing. Black sumi-ink is penetrated in the cracks to create a sensitive lines forming a fragile pattern of "sumi-kannyu" on the fresh light-blue glaze.

 As the cup is used over time, the lines of “kannyu” may increase and the pigment of tea seep through. Its texture may change and develop, and we hope you will enjoy its beauty along the aging process.
